Model Paulina Porizkova brought this sequined gown into Alts Chelsea. She was considering getting rid of it, but wanted to give the dress a chance at a second life. Enter tailors Tymber and Athena. Instead of just taking in the dress, the team suggested a rebuilt back, swapped out straps, and more. The final result was so beautiful, Paulina wore it to an Elle Magazine photoshoot!
When this client’s custom traditional dress arrived, ill-fitting, exactly one week before her flight, tailor David worked some rush alteration magic. He completely reworked the back, installing a lace up corset style replacement to add some breathing room. Wardrobe panic averted!
Proportions are everything, this jacket alteration is proof. To achieve the fit, Alts Hoboken tailor Jimmy shortened the hem to create a flattering cropped silhouette. He removed the original pockets, resized them, and restitched them higher on the body – perfectly balanced with the jacket’s new length.
